The Public Is Really Curious Whether Jokowi's Diploma Is Real or Fake
The diploma controversy surrounding Indonesia's 7th President Joko Widodo keeps fueling public debate. Legal observer Andrianto Andri says that certainty about the diploma's authenticity is important for a leader's legitimacy and integrity. He thinks if the diploma isn't genuine, then the person has committed a moral lie.
Andri is asking that the court case involving Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa not only focus on defamation but also become a platform to prove the diploma's authenticity. He stressed that law enforcement officials shouldn't manipulate the verification process.
He also appreciated Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa for being cooperative and following the whole legal process, unlike other Jokowi supporters who already have final and binding legal decisions but ran away.
