Tangsel City Government Installs Free Internet in 755 Mosques, Boosting the Digital Transformation of the Community
The South Tangerang City Government has set up free internet in 755 mosques and prayer rooms to support digital-based education, preaching, and public services. This move is part of an inclusive Smart City ecosystem.
Head of Diskominfo Tangsel, Asep Nurdin, said mosques need to level up and become centers for literacy, info, and community empowerment in this digital age. The program covers around 5,000 public facility spots, with 755 of them being mosques and prayer rooms.
The management of DKM Al Huda Jombang Ciputat, Ustadz Hasan Asari, gave a thumbs up to the initiative. The city government also runs the Safari Subuh program to build religious character and broader insights.
With free internet and a push for digital literacy, the hope is for mosques to become hubs for education and community empowerment that keep up with the times.
