Surabaya's National Al-Akbar Mosque (MAS) is all set to welcome up to 40,000 people for the Eid al-Adha 1447 H prayer on Wednesday, May 27. The prayer kicks off at 6 a.m. local time in the main area, with KH Abdul Hamid Abdullah, M.Si leading as imam. The sermon will be given by the head of East Java's MUI, Prof. Dr. KH Abd Halim Soebahar, centered on the theme 'Learning from the Exemplary Conduct of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail to Nurture an Excellent Generation.'
H. Helmy M. Noor, MAS's public relations head, said they've pulled out all the stops with preparations, including separating entry points for men and women to keep things smooth. Worshippers are advised to bring their footwear in a small bag or plastic and keep an eye on their belongings. The Al-Akbar Mosque 3D Virtual Tour app can help navigate around the complex, which has 45 doors.
