Special Hajj Waiting Period Hits 9 Years, BSI Strengthens Savings and Hajj Ecosystem Services
The waiting period for special hajj has now reached around nine years, pushing PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) to strengthen its services in the hajj sector by partnering with hundreds of Special Hajj Organizers (PIHK). This collaboration aims to deliver integrated services, from financial planning to departure preparations.
BSI's Retail Banking Director Kemas Erwan Husainy stated, "When the special hajj waiting period reaches nine years, people need to prepare for their hajj journey much earlier. BSI is committed to being a partner in planning the pilgrimage to the Holy Land in a better, more directed, and Sharia-compliant manner."
Currently, the regular hajj queue has reached about 5.45 million pilgrims with a waiting period of 26-29 years, while the special hajj queue is 149,000 pilgrims. BSI holds the largest market share of regular hajj deposits in Indonesia, around 83 percent, and for special hajj, about 35.40 percent.
Through synergy with PIHK, BSI is striving to build a more integrated hajj ecosystem, providing convenience and assistance for prospective pilgrims from planning to departure to the Holy Land.
