Spain closes airspace to US planes involved in war on Iran
Spain has taken a strong stance against the US-Israel war on Iran, which it calls "profoundly illegal and profoundly unjust." The country has not only refused to let the US use jointly operated military bases but has now also closed its airspace to US aircraft involved in the conflict. This move reinforces Spain's position as Europe's loudest opposing voice to the war, distinct from the EU's more vague calls for de-escalation.
