8 Months Ago I Spoke the Shahada, and Today I Led Prayers for the First Time
Assalamu alaikum, my dear brothers and sisters. Alhamdulillah, today marked a really significant moment for me. It's been about eight months since I embraced Islam, and today, I was honored to lead the 'Asr prayer as the imam. Even though there were just two brothers praying behind me, the feeling was incredibly profound. Standing at the front, saying the takbir, and knowing others were following my recitation-it truly made me reflect on how much Allah has guided me in such a short time. Just eight months back, I was still learning the basics of how to pray correctly, and today, I was leading it. I'll admit, I was a bit nervous and hoping I wouldn't make any mistakes, but afterward, all I felt was immense gratitude. Moments like these really make the journey feel tangible and real. I wanted to share this to encourage any other reverts or new Muslims: progress can happen quicker than you might expect. Keep learning, keep coming to the masjid, trust in Allah's plan, and never stop making dua. Alhamdulillah for everything.
