Shalawat Bus Operates 24 Hours Until June 21, 2026 to Serve Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims
Mecca – The shalawat bus service for Indonesian hajj pilgrims from hotels to the Grand Mosque will keep running 24 hours a day until June 21, 2026, even though the number of pilgrims in Mecca has decreased. The head of the Transportation Service Division of PPIH Saudi Arabia, Syarif Rahman, confirmed this commitment to support worship comfort.
“The shalawat buses for the five daily prayers to the Grand Mosque are still operating,” he said in Mecca on Wednesday (6/17/2026). Right now, the first wave of pilgrims has returned home, while the second wave has been gradually heading to Medina since June 7, 2026.
A total of 52 buses are provided until the last group leaves for Medina. Two routes have been temporarily suspended because the pilgrims have left Mecca, but the staff and fleet are being reassigned to other points. All bus stops and departure points are still running normally, though locations might be adjusted based on the number of pilgrims.
