Saudi, Turkey, and Pakistan Sign Joint Defense Pact in Makkah
Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan inked a joint defense agreement in Makkah on Friday (7/8/2026). The signing was done by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and PM Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at Safa Palace. Under the deal, an armed attack against any party is considered an attack against all three. This clause is designed to beef up collective deterrence. The three countries also agreed to develop defense cooperation across all dimensions to promote regional peace and stability.

Saudi Arabia is a G20 country guarding the two holy cities, Pakistan is the only nuclear-armed Muslim nation, and Turkey has NATO's second-largest military.
