Saudi Arabia Affirms Sanctions for Transporters of Illegal Hajj Pilgrims

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior has affirmed that citizens and residents who transport Hajj pilgrims without an official permit will be subject to fines up to 50 thousand riyals and a maximum prison sentence of six months. Violators who are expatriates will be deported after serving their sentence and banned from re-entering the Kingdom, in accordance with the applicable law. The Ministry emphasized that a valid Hajj permit is mandatory for performing the Hajj pilgrimage. All parties are urged to comply with the regulations for the Hajj season of 1447 H and to cooperate with the relevant authorities for the safety and security of the pilgrims, with a warning that violations will be dealt with strictly. The public is advised to report violations via the emergency number 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, and via 999 in other regions throughout the Kingdom.
