Said Didu Slams MBG Program Management, Claims Rp150 Trillion Budget Manipulation
Former Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs Muhammad Said Didu criticized the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program under the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). He revealed several schemes that allegedly manipulate the state budget, potentially causing state losses of around Rp150 trillion. These schemes include inflating the target recipients to 82 million children, commercializing SPPG kitchens, nepotism among managers, and changes in incentives that benefit certain parties.
In line with that, the Attorney General's Office named the Chair of the Indonesian Food Security Review Foundation, Glory Harimas Sihombing, as a new suspect. She is suspected of acting as an intermediary to find partners for the SPPG foundation on the orders of former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana, by providing money periodically related to project allocations. Previously, the AGO had detained five other suspects, including former BGN officials.
Said Didu called for a moratorium on the MBG program and a restructuring of its implementation. Meanwhile, investigators are still looking into the nepotism and markup schemes in procurement that are not directly related to the free meal operations, such as the procurement of electric motorcycles and electronic devices worth trillions of rupiah.
