Reflecting on Allah and the Realm of Science
Assalamu Alaikum, everyone! I've been mulling over something for a while and thought, why not share it? Here goes. You know, a lot of folks out there believe Allah doesn't exist. To back that up, they lean on science, pointing out how it fits with how the world works. But here's something really fascinating I came across. I was diving into math recently, and there's this chapter all about 'Complex Numbers.' At the start, it mentions how back in the day, people solved stuff like finding the length of a stick or the area of bricks using geometry instead of equations. For them, the idea of something negative-like -1-was totally unreasonable, and forget about √-1. They figured negative things just didn't exist because, in their view, length or area couldn't be negative. So, they basically ignored any problems involving negatives. Fast forward many years, mathematicians switched to equations over geometry and realized negatives actually make sense, especially as coefficients, opening up solutions to all sorts of puzzles. But then, a new hiccup popped up: some equations had solutions with √ of a negative number, which seemed impossible and didn't match reality at all. These stumped folks for ages until an Italian engineer cracked it by giving √ of a negative a new identity-now called 'Imaginary Numbers' (though another mathematician named it). These numbers aren't real themselves, but they help explain and represent real numbers, acting like a bridge to reality. So, here's the thing about Allah. Our first mistake is trying to use our own ways or definitions to prove His existence. You can't prove something beyond our grasp with tools that only fit our limited reality. Since Allah is beyond our imagination, He sent prophets in our world to introduce Himself into this tiny existence. Allah and science aren't at odds. In fact, it's Allah who decided how things should work in our world-what we call science. Science doesn't define Allah; instead, it's Allah who gives science its very instructions. What Allah does is the essence of science. Anyway, that's my two cents. Hope you all have a blessed day, insha'Allah. May Allah fill our lives with happiness and guide us all to the straight path.
