PLN UIT JBM Boosts Modern Farming with Electric Tools, Aims to Increase Gresik Farmers' Productivity

PT PLN (Persero) East Java and Bali Transmission Main Unit (UIT JBM) keeps pushing electricity use in the productive sector through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program called SEDAP BANJAR in Banjarsari Village, Cerme, Gresik. They handed over electric tools like hand tractors, rice threshers, electric pest sprayers, and water pumps to the local farmer groups. On Monday (6/29), General Manager of PLN UIT JBM, Ika Sudarmaja, said that electricity doesn't just boost operational efficiency but also opens up opportunities for village community welfare. He hopes this assistance can drive economic independence and strengthen national food security. This program is expected to become a model for electricity-based village economic development that can be applied in other regions. The synergy between technology, improving farmers' skills, and community empowerment is seen as able to create a more modern and competitive farming system.
