PBNU Inaugurates PWNU Aceh Board, UIN Ar-Raniry Rector Becomes Katib Syuriyah

The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) inaugurated 119 board members of PWNU Aceh for the 2026-2031 term in Banda Aceh on Saturday night. Tgk H Nuruzzahri Yahya (Waled NU) was entrusted as Rais Syuriyah, Tgk H Faisal Ali as Ketua Tanfidziyah, and UIN Ar-Raniry Rector Prof Dr Mujiburrahman as Katib Syuriyah. The inauguration was conducted by PBNU Rais Syuriah KH Muhammad Cholil Nafis, attended by PBNU ranks as well as Acehnese scholars and community figures. This board is based on PBNU Decree No. 189/PB.01/A.II.01.44/99/04/2026. Mujiburrahman sees the presence of academics as strengthening the synergy between scholarly tradition and knowledge. "NU is built on the tradition of knowledge. Academics do not replace ulama, but rather strengthen systematic, research-based community work," he said.
