PBNU Chair: Case of Former Jampidsus a Heavy Blow, Attorney General Asked to Stay Spirited
PBNU Chairman Ahmad Fahrur Rozi has urged Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to keep his spirits up in leading the Attorney General's Office despite being hit by a case that dragged in former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. He sees the incident as a heavy blow, but says it shouldn't disrupt the commitment to eradicating corruption.
Fahrur stressed the need for internal evaluation and a firm, transparent approach in handling the matter. He also called on the public to assess the prosecutor's office’s performance objectively, since various achievements in uncovering major cases and saving state assets still deserve appreciation.
He pushed for stronger internal oversight and a culture of integrity so that such misconduct doesn't happen again. Fahrur is optimistic that if this test is passed well, public trust in law enforcement will grow even stronger.
