Passing on my Quran
As-salamu alaikum everyone. I’m still new to Islam, just reverted recently. I need some advice. I’ve got this English translation of the Quran, The Clear Quran, that my imam gave me when I first started learning about Islam. I’m thinking of giving it to a friend of mine. He already has another translation but finds it a bit confusing when he reads it. I feel like my copy could help him understand better. He’s really into reading and has been exploring the Quran, so maybe it could open his heart more. Only issue is, he loves to put duct tape on his book covers. He says it protects them and lets him decorate them, and he’s an amazing artist too. I asked him if I gave him my Quran, would he still tape it, and he said yes. That doesn’t sit well with me, honestly. But part of me wonders if gifting it might be a means for him to find guidance one day, since he’ll read the whole thing. What do you think? Should I give it to him anyway?
