Norway Knocks Out Ivory Coast 2-1, Faces Brazil in 2026 World Cup Round of 16
BANDA ACEH – Norway’s national team booked their spot in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup after beating Ivory Coast 2-1 at the Dallas Stadium, Texas, USA, early Wednesday (July 1, 2026) WIB. This win sends Norway on to face Brazil in the next phase, while Ivory Coast’s journey comes to an end.
Norway took the lead first through Antonio Nusa’s goal in the 39th minute, a curling shot into the corner of the net. Ivory Coast equalized in the 74th minute thanks to Amad Diallo, who combined with a one-two with Nicolas Pepe.
Erling Haaland sealed the victory for Norway in the 86th minute after receiving a perfect pass from Patrick Berg. Ivory Coast tried to level the score during injury time, but Diallo’s free kick was denied by goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.
