Nganjuk Police Traffic Unit Replaces Faded Flags and Hands Out Red and White on the Streets
The Nganjuk Police Traffic Unit held a sympathetic action "Flag Patrol for the Nation" ahead of Indonesia's 81st Independence Day. Officers swept through residential areas and distributed Red and White flags to road users. Traffic Chief AKP Afandy Dwi Takdir said this activity is a form of the police's concern to ignite the spirit of nationalism.
Officers replaced residents' faded, dull, or torn flags with new ones, accompanied by a joint salute. A total of 162 flags were handed out, including 81 to motorcyclists and pedicab drivers.
Besides distributing flags, officers educated people on the importance of taking care of flags and urged orderly traffic. Residents appreciated this humanitarian initiative that fueled the spirit of nationalism.
