KPK Secures 18 People Including Tulungagung Regent in Sting Operation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) secured 18 people in a sting operation (OTT) in Tulungagung Regency, East Java, on Friday, April 10, 2026. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that 13 of the 18 people have been brought to Jakarta in stages for further examination.
Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo arrived in Jakarta in the first phase on Saturday morning, April 11, 2026. The second phase brought 11 people from the Tulungagung Regency Government environment, and the third phase brought one person from other parties. All will undergo intensive examination at the KPK's Red and White Building in Kuningan Persada, Jakarta.
KPK investigators also seized a number of pieces of evidence, including cash suspected to be related to the case under investigation. This operation is part of a series of covert investigations by the KPK in the East Java region.
