KPK Catches 19 People Including West Lombok Regent in Ops, 7 Taken to Jakarta
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a sting operation (OTT) on 19 people, including West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini. Out of that number, seven were brought to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta for further questioning.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the seven consist of state officials and private parties. Meanwhile, KPK Deputy Chair Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed the OTT is the 17th case so far in 2026.
Several rooms in the West Lombok Regency Government office, including the regent’s, have been sealed by the KPK. Under the Criminal Procedure Code, the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested.
