It just seems like many young folks today are drifting away from deen, and honestly, I think it's because they're too attached to this dunya.
SubhanAllah, it's not just Islam-any religion with real rules is seeing this. The biggest thing? Loving worldly pleasures way too much, prioritizing this temporary life over the akhirah. Maybe because Islam is the one deen we can't really 'water down.' We try to follow it properly, alhamdulillah. A brother I know said he'd look at other paths but never Islam because he didn't want to grow a beard-he didn't want to 'hide his jawline.' Astaghfirullah, such a small thing to keep you from guidance. And once, in a discussion, a sister said she'd 'rather die than obey a man just because Allah commands it, or be a fourth wife.' You hear that argument a lot, and it's so sad because it's based on misunderstanding. Another person just flat out said he wants money, nice food, cars... the dunya. He said, 'If Allah will punish me for loving the pleasures He created me to love, that's not a God I want to worship. I'd rather be in the Fire.' It's heartbreaking, wallahi. It feels like every day, the love for this world is pulling people away, not just from Islam, but from any real faith. May Allah guide us all and keep our hearts firm.
