Is it okay for me, a Christian, to buy halal meat just to try it?

As-salamu alaykum! I'm a Christian who grew up in a very Christian area and never met a Muslim until recently. Now I live in a bigger city, and there's a halal butcher close to my home. I'm curious about the food and wondering if it's okay to buy from there. Would that be disrespectful or weird? I just want to try something new.
