Indonesia Hasn't Snagged the Labbaytum Award 2026, Hajj Minister Points to Pilgrim Health Factors
Indonesia didn’t make the cut for the 2026 Labbaytum Award, the Saudi government’s recognition for top hajj management. Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf said that pilgrim health was the main scoring factor that needs beefing up. Even so, Indonesia got some direct props, including a special invite from the Saudi Hajj Minister and a visit to the pilgrims' tents in Mina.
The 2026 Labbaytum Award was handed out on June 1, 2026, with Malaysia taking home the Diamond Award. The scoring stuff includes digitalization, rule compliance, and data-driven management. Health evaluation will be a big focus for future hajj prep.
