Gus Kikin Reveals Al-Qanun Al-Asasi, the Document Called the Soul of NU's Struggle
Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School caretaker, KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz (Gus Kikin), emphasized the importance of Al-Qanun Al-Asasi as a fundamental document and the soul of Nahdlatul Ulama's (NU) struggle. The document, compiled by Hadratussyekh KH Hasyim Asy'ari, contains the rationale and direction of NU's struggle since its founding. Gus Kikin mentioned that over the past three years he has been trying to collect and reassemble this four-chapter document, which hasn't been used for a long time.
The socialization of Al-Qanun Al-Asasi was held at the MPR building, with the hope that it becomes a reference ahead of the NU Congress to revisit the core values and original goals of the organization. Gus Kikin is one of the candidates for Chairman of PBNU. MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani considered this document important as a foundation for the organization's thinking in maintaining national unity and integrity, reflecting NU's attention to the issues of the people and the nation.
