Government Prepares Operational Vehicles and Trucks for the Red and White Fishermen's Cooperative

Coordinating Minister for Food, Zulkifli Hasan, announced the government's readiness to provide operational vehicles to support the activities of the Red and White Fishermen's Cooperative (Koperasi Nelayan Merah Putih, KNMP). This assistance in the form of cars, trucks, and three-wheeled vehicles is promised to be delivered after the nationwide development of KNMP is completed in July 2026. Zulhas emphasized that operational vehicles are needed to support the distribution and storage systems for fishermen's catches. The government is also preparing additional facilities such as cold storage, ice factories, workshops, and fish auction sites to prevent fishermen from being forced to sell fish at low prices when the catch is abundant. Chairman of the Sumber Laut Lateng Fishermen Group (KUB), Saipul Rahman, welcomed the assistance and hoped that the vehicles provided would be equipped with coolers to maintain fish quality during distribution.
