GCC Slams Israeli Extremist Settlers' Action at Al-Aqsa, Calls It a Serious Threat to Regional Stability
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Albudaiwi, has strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by extremist Jewish settlers under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. The action is seen as a blatant violation of international law and UN resolutions on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC's rejection of any attempts to change the historical and legal status of Jerusalem, including Islamic holy sites. He warned that such provocations not only threaten the sanctity of Al-Aqsa but could also spark wider instability in the Middle East.
The GCC affirmed its full solidarity with the Palestinian people and support for their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolutions.
