First Wave of Pilgrims Start Moving from Mina to Mecca, Thousands of Officers on Standby
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the start of the Indonesian pilgrims' movement under the Nafar Tsani scheme from Mina to Mecca on Saturday (May 30, 2026), coinciding with the 13th of Dhul Hijjah 1447. This movement marks the end of the peak hajj rituals (Armuzna) which went smoothly, orderly, and under control. Pilgrims first complete the stoning of the jamarat on the third day of Tashreeq before returning to Mecca.
The spokesperson for the ministry, Ichsan Marsha, praised the pilgrims' discipline in following the officers' instructions and the stoning schedule. He stressed the importance of sticking to the schedule for safety, order, and coordination of the movement from Mina to Mecca, as well as to avoid overcrowding. Pilgrims are urged to quickly finish stoning the three jamarat (Ula, Wustha, Aqabah) and get ready to head back to the tents to follow the mobilization process.
A total of 1,356 Mina Task Force officers are deployed at strategic points to monitor, manage the flow, serve, and quickly respond to the pilgrims' needs. Monitoring posts are located at key spots like Road 616, Road 533, in front of Mina Al-Wadi Hospital, and the paths to the Jamarat. Officers are making sure pilgrims stay on safe routes and don't take risky shortcuts.
The ministry also reminded pilgrims to be patient if the buses can't drop them right in front of their hotels due to traffic jams, and to take care of their health by drinking enough, eating regularly, and cutting down on unnecessary physical activity. Special attention is needed for elderly, disabled, and female pilgrims. Ichsan called on the pilgrims to maintain brotherhood and a spirit of mutual help for a safe, orderly, comfortable, and blessed hajj.
