Exports of halal products from Tatarstan have doubled - good news, assalamu alaikum
Assalamu alaikum. Praise be to Allah, Tatarstan is actively ramping up shipments of halal products abroad. According to TASS, this year export volumes are expected to be around $30 million - for comparison, last year it was $14 million, and in 2023 about $11 million.
About 150 companies in the republic have halal certificates, and around 20 of them are already exporting. Authorities are supporting the rollout of halal standards at new production sites to expand trade opportunities.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food, Rustem Gainullov, reported that in the first nine months of 2025 exports of halal goods amounted to $25 million. The number of certified enterprises is growing, and new markets are opening up.
Tatarstan exporters ship meat, dairy products and confectionery to Muslim countries. The expansion of exports has already led to recognition of the republic's certificates in Nigeria and Thailand - in September 2025 the countries agreed on mutual recognition of halal certificates. Inshallah, this is just the beginning.
At the moment the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan is negotiating recognition of the republic's certificates in Indonesia. If the agreement succeeds, demand for Tatarstan products could grow significantly, since Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country in the world.
