Ebola Death Toll in Congo Hits 196

The health ministry of the Democratic Republic of Congo reported that the death toll from the Ebola outbreak has reached 196 people, with a total of 837 confirmed cases. On Wednesday (17/6), there were 29 new cases and four new deaths recorded, all in Ituri Province. The case fatality rate for the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus is estimated at 23.4 percent, while 49 patients have been declared recovered.
