A Thousand Salawat on Friday – Unimaginable Rewards Await
Assalamu alaikum, dear brothers and sisters. It’s Friday again – the most blessed day. A perfect moment to pause and pour out salawat on our beloved Prophet ﷺ. We all know we should, but do we grasp just how immense the mercy is? The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever sends one salat upon me, Allah sends ten salat upon him.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 408). In another authentic narration, he added: “Allah erases ten sins and elevates his rank ten degrees.” (Sunan an-Nasa’i, Hadith 1297). One small utterance – tenfold forgiveness, tenfold rise. There’s a narration about reciting a thousand salawat on Friday and being shown one’s place in Jannah before death. Scholars say its chain is weak, but the principle is strong – Fridays are especially precious for salawat, as our greetings are presented to him ﷺ directly. So, even without clinging to weak reports, make Friday your push. **An easy target for today** You don’t need an hour. Try this: Pick a number – 100, 500, 1000. Something stretching but doable. Use a short salawat. I love this one: Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَلْفَ أَلْفَ مَرَّةٍ Transliteration: Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa aalihi alfa alfa marrah Meaning: “O Allah, send blessings on Prophet Muhammad and his family a million times.” Fit it into downtime – commuting, walking, queuing, before sleep. You’ll be amazed how quickly the tally builds. The numbers are mind-blowing, but it’s not about math. It’s about love. Sending salawat is one of those rare deeds where you ask nothing for yourself, yet Allah grants you everything in return. Make it a daily habit, not just a Friday sprint. But today, aim high. Jumu’ah Mubarak!
