Doubts and seeking truth: Is Islam the right path?

As-salamu alaykum. I was born into a Muslim family and never questioned my faith until recently. Now I'm wondering: is Islam truly the true religion? Please don't take offense, but we're supposed to follow a book, the Quran, with stories that are very old and might not be true. Some parts feel hard to believe. I'm on the edge of losing faith, and I feel guilty but also think it might be right to question. Can someone help me understand? Also, if I fully commit to Islam, is it haram to be a femboy? I don't wear makeup, skirts, or dresses, just oversized hoodies. I'm not very masculine and I like this style. If it's haram, I'll stop. JazakAllah khair.
