Chronology of Drug Operation That Killed Three Police Officers in Katingan
A drug eradication operation by the Narcotics Unit of the Katingan Police in Central Kalimantan ended tragically with the deaths of three police officers. It all started when officers raided the house of a suspected meth dealer in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Central Katingan District, on Wednesday night, July 1, 2026.
The last victim, Aiptu Sumariyanto, was found floating in the Katingan River, Rantau Asam Village, on Sunday, July 5, 2026, after being reported missing earlier. His body was taken to Bhayangkara Hospital in Palangka Raya. The other two victims, Aipda Yudhie Perdana Putra and Bripda Nopandri Ramadhana, had already been declared dead.
Katingan Police Chief AKBP Dodik Hartono explained that the operation involved 12 personnel split into two teams to ambush a repeat offender with the initials BIO. One target was arrested, but the situation turned when people in the target's house and local residents fought back.
With the discovery of Aiptu Sumariyanto, a total of three Katingan Police personnel lost their lives in this operation. The body was found after a villager reported seeing a body floating and caught on some wood, about eight kilometers from the operation site.
