Besides the Hajj Waiting Period, Issues in Armuzna Must Be Addressed Soon
Hajj Oversight Team member Abdul Wachid revealed a number of Hajj issues discussed in the meeting between President Prabowo and the Ministry of Hajj in Hambalang, Bogor, on Wednesday (17/6/2026). While the 2026 Hajj is considered good, improvements are still needed.
The main problems include lodging facilities and infrastructure, catering, and the limited space in Mina which must accommodate large numbers of pilgrims. The president questioned the possibility of shortening the pilgrims' stay to 25 days and pushed for solutions to the waiting list of up to 26 years.
The government is preparing strategic steps to improve services and shorten the waiting period. Minister of Hajj Mochamad Irfan Yusuf conveyed progress such as visa acceleration, distribution of Nusuk cards, and multiyear contracts for pilgrim accommodation and mobility.
