Banyuwangi Regent Urges Residents to Be Careful in Choosing Umrah Travel, Only 9 Official Agents
The Banyuwangi Regency government is urging the public to be more careful in selecting Umrah travel agencies. Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani expressed her concern over a fake travel case that caused dozens of pilgrims to fail to depart. People are asked to ensure the travel agency has an official license from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The Chief of Criminal Investigation at Banyuwangi Police, Kompol Lanang Teguh Pambudi, revealed that out of 44 travel agencies in Banyuwangi, only 9 are officially registered. Residents are advised to check legality through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah website, not to make payments to personal accounts, and to keep transaction records. Authorities are committed to taking firm action against fraudsters.
