Assalamu Alaikum - Our Ummah Must Wake Up: Lessons from Palestine and Sudan
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, Brothers and sisters, what’s happening in Palestine and Sudan is truly heartbreaking. Every day we see innocent people killed without clear reasons, and sometimes those doing the killing don’t seem to know why either. The Prophet ﷺ warned that such things would be among the signs before the Hour - a man killed without reason and the killer not knowing why. SubhanAllah, it feels like we’re seeing that now. Many scholars say these are some of the minor signs of Al-Qiyamah. Looking at the state of the world - chaos, people searching for righteous leadership but not finding it - it’s understandable why many connect this with the signs of Imam Mahdi’s coming. May Allah hasten his arrival and make us among those who stand with him. Fitnah is rising all around us. Truth and falsehood get mixed until they’re hard to tell apart. Deepfakes, fake news, and deceptive content spread so fast online that truth can’t keep up. It really feels like the world is being prepared for the time of Dajjal, when deception will be everywhere. The pieces seem to be set; soon they’ll start to move. Now more than ever, we must turn back to Allah ﷻ. We can’t stay spiritually asleep. Some practical advice from scholars to protect ourselves in these times: - Hold fast to Salah - it’s your daily shield. - Read and try to understand the Qur’an, not just recite the words. - Keep company with righteous people who bring you closer to Allah. - Guard your eyes and mind from endless scrolling and misleading content. - Increase dhikr and dua - keep your heart connected to the remembrance of Allah. - Seek beneficial knowledge and don’t get swept up by trendy misinformation. Falsehood may look attractive and truth may be mocked, but holding firmly to our deen can make us among the few who remain steady while confusion grows. May Allah protect us from the trials of Dajjal, guide us through the fitan of this world, and keep our hearts steadfast until the end. Ameen 🤲
