A forgotten Sunnah - a special time for dua (As-salamu alaykum)
As-salamu alaykum. *REVIVE A SUNNAH* *MAKING DUAA AFTER ADHAN 🤲🏼* A man once said to the Prophet (ﷺ): “The muadhdhins have been given a special reward for calling the adhan.” The Prophet (ﷺ) replied: “Repeat after them what they say, and when you finish, make dua for whatever you wish, and it will be granted.” Source: Sunan Abi Dawud 524 (hasan) The Prophet (ﷺ) also said: “The supplication made between the adhan and the iqamah is not rejected.” Source: Sunan Abi Dawud 521 (sahih) #GoodHabits #ReviveASunnah *HOW TO REPEAT THE ADHAN (simple guide)* The Prophet (ﷺ) taught the following responses: - When the caller says “Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar,” you say the same: “Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar.” - When he says “Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah,” you respond: “Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah.” - When he says “Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasul Allah,” you say: “Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasul Allah.” - When he says “Hayya 'alas-salat” (come to prayer), respond: “La hawla wa la quwwata illa Billah.” - When he says “Hayya 'alal-falah” (come to success), also respond: “La hawla wa la quwwata illa Billah.” - When he again says “Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar,” repeat: “Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar.” - When he ends with “La ilaha illallah,” and you say from the heart “La ilaha illallah,” that is promised to be a means to enter Paradise. Source: Sahih Muslim 385 (850) Try to use this time between the adhan and iqamah to make heartfelt dua - it’s a blessed window. May Allah accept our duas. Amin.
