Who is General Suryo, linked to the discovery of 995 firearms at an Islamic school in South Jakarta?
The figure of General Suryo came up in the case of finding 995 firearms at a private school in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. His name was revealed by the lawyer for former foundation chairman Indra Wargadalem, Alhadid Endar Putra, who is also the CEO of PT Lokta Karya Perbakin.
Alhadid claims that those 995 firearms belong to his company and are legal based on License Number SI/5483-XII/2008 from the National Police. The guns were supposedly stock for a planned shooting and archery extracurricular activity, which General Suryo, as the foundation's advisor, knew about back in 2021.
Since April 2026, the storage warehouse at the school has been taken over by another party, so Alhadid can't access the weapons. In July 2026, when his staff went to pick up the items, there were already police and military personnel on site.
General Suryo was a retired high-ranking TNI officer and once served as CEO of Mandala Airlines. He passed away in 2022, so the extracurricular plan never went ahead. His name lives on as the name of a room at the school.
