Where Dajjal Is Imprisoned According to the Prophet Muhammad's Hadith
The emergence of Dajjal is one of the major signs of the end times in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described him as the greatest trial on the face of the earth. Although the Qur'an doesn't mention his location, hadiths tell of Dajjal being currently locked up on an island.
This story was narrated by Tamim al-Dari (may Allah be pleased with him), who met a creature called Al-Jassasah on an unknown island. The creature directed him to a huge building where a giant man was bound in chains. The man claimed to be Dajjal and asked about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Muslims.
Another hadith mentions that Dajjal will emerge from the east, specifically from Khurasan (Persia), and then appear between Syria and Iraq. He is also said to come from the Jews of Isfahan with 70,000 Jewish followers. Signs of his emergence include the disappearance of knowledge, widespread tribulations, and three years of famine beforehand.
