What changed after 75 days of tidying my desk - Assalamu alaikum
Assalamu alaikum, After a long day's work I stood up from my now-tidy desk and felt a calm, a real sense of relief. I can't point to one exact reason, but it felt like I'd finished a task, folded up my camp for the night, and was ready to face the next day before it even arrived. I used to be the kind of person who sat surrounded by stacks of papers, laptops and random notes, each one demanding my attention and pulling me into distractions - which only made me procrastinate more. One day I happened to read a chapter in a book about discipline, and it mentioned clearing your desk every day. I tried it mostly because it was simple and easy to start. "Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work." - Ryan Holiday Little habits like making the bed, straightening the desk, and putting things in their place seem small, but doing them consistently gives a steady sense of accomplishment and order. That calm spills into other parts of life, insha'Allah. PS: I enjoy writing and sharing these small wins. I don't know why, but I like connecting with others - may we all benefit.
