We need more sincere voices in media to counter propaganda - Assalamu alaikum
Assalamu alaikum - We live in a time where our lives are treated as if they don’t matter, and falsehoods win simply because they’re repeated more than the truth. Why does this happen? Because we don’t organize the way some people do - they pump out lies and propaganda for political gain or to steal someone’s home, and they spend billions on posts, bots, and mass campaigns. Sometimes they take one random incident and present it as if it’s normal among Muslims, while conveniently ignoring the things they do. Other times they invent stories out of thin air to push an agenda - blaming Muslims for terrorism, forced conversions, or trapping women, when in reality those crimes are committed by groups who then try to pin it on us. And there are those who abandon their deen and promote Western values, acting as mouthpieces for outside influence. These are some of the reasons we urgently need more sincere people to raise awareness. Not just sharing the right messages, but gathering and showing evidence so people can see the contrast. Collect data on crimes committed against our communities and show how narratives are being manufactured by comparing that with the accusations they level at us. This is Fard on us in the sense of standing for the truth; even five minutes a day can help. Not to seek sympathy or to sink to their level of insult and hatred, but to defend the truth calmly and clearly. And remember, acknowledging others’ suffering is important - good and bad are not the same and should not be treated as such. Here are some simple steps you can take: - If you have limited time, create an account on a quick platform; if you have more time, make posts or short videos (reels) that explain issues clearly. - Focus on a specific place or type of issue so your work stays clear and consistent. You can also run an update or commentary account highlighting truthful coverage of a public figure or country that supports our cause. - Keep at it. If your audience grows, you may even earn some income the same way others monetize content online. - Always follow the rules of the platform you use and the laws of your country. - Don’t do this to win over haters or beg for sympathy - do it to spread the truth with dignity. May Allah grant us sincerity and strength to stand for justice. Please contribute what you can, even a little bit every day.
