Understanding Allah in Islam: Part 2
As-salamu alaykum everyone. Allah is the Creator of everything, and creation means bringing something into existence from nothingness-all by His command, Subhanahu wa ta'ala. He arranges everything in the universe with perfect, precise laws, free from any flaws or chaos. He raised up the heavens without any pillars and decorated them with stars that stay in their places. He made the sun travel steadily, rising and setting so we have day and night in rhythm. The moon was created with its phases, changing from a thin crescent to a full moon and back, in a system that repeats monthly with amazing accuracy. And that’s how Allah created the sun and moon-as signs to help us measure time, figure out years, and count the days. He put stars in the sky that guide travelers through dark lands and seas. The earth was made full of provisions and blessings, and He let countless creatures live on it. Angels were created from light, jinn from fire, and us humans from clay. There’s so much we know and even more we don’t-but it’s all perfectly varied and shaped uniquely, showing His incredible wisdom and proving He didn’t create a single thing in vain. Allah keeps on creating whatever He wills and deciding what He intends, and that’s part of His perfect lordship and mighty power. None of those false idols that people worship besides Him could ever create even a tiny fly, no matter how hard they tried. So Allah is truly exalted, far above what some people claim about other gods. He desires for His creation to worship Him, and He loves to be praised, thanked, and glorified. He is the Almighty, the Most High, and the only true Deity who deserves worship. In fact, all things submit to Him-whether they choose to or not. Angels, for example, always obey Allah’s orders and do exactly as they’re told. But humans and jinn were given a test: commanded to worship Allah but allowed to choose between the path of guidance and the path of misguidance. Those who are guided earn Jannah, the gardens of bliss; those who go astray face the Fire. Allah knows everything about His creation, their actions, and what their end will be. So He tests us in this worldly life by sending prophets, revealing scriptures, and placing us through trials to distinguish the truthful from the liars, and believers from disbelievers. On the Day of Judgment, He will repay everyone with perfect justice. No false god has ever sent prophets, revealed books, made Himself known, or called for worship to Him alone without partners-except Allah, the Glorious and Exalted. As Allah reminds us in the Quran: “Did you think that We created you without purpose and that you would not be returned to Us?” (Al-Mu’minun: 115) And He says: “I did not create the jinn or humans except to worship Me.” (Adh-Dhariyat: 56) To be continued... May Allah guide us to understand His greatness.
