The Merits and Meanings of the Last 10 Verses of Surah Ali Imran
Some Muslims often read the last 10 verses of Surah Ali Imran (verses 190-200), especially at night. These verses contain an invitation to reflect upon the signs of Allah's greatness, like the creation of the heavens and the earth, as well as prayers for seeking forgiveness and protection.
These verses hold special merits. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to recite them as a Sunnah after waking up before the night prayer, as narrated by Ibn Abbas (RA). Their meaning is also so profound that it once made the Prophet weep when receiving the revelation about creation.
Ustadz Adi Hidayat explains that making a habit of reciting and understanding the content of these verses can bring three special things: being protected from sin, being guided to increase in knowledge, and being guided toward Allah's pleasure and His Paradise.
