Struggling with Belief: How Do Former Atheists Find Faith?

Assalamu alaikum, everyone. I was born into a Muslim family, but my faith got shaken because religion seemed so at odds with science, evolution, and things like jinn-at times it all felt like folklore. I still believe in a higher power, and I feel I need a way to truly know the Creator, because how can you build a close bond with someone you don't really understand? To me, Islam makes the most sense logically: there's no confusion, just one God who is loving yet perfectly just. But I struggle with some parts. I think I connect most with those who came to Islam from atheism, since their old perspective matches mine now. I’d love to hear how they found their way to believing.
