Saudi Arabia Cuts Hajj Queues with Latest AI Tech
Saudi Arabia keeps ramping up its digital transformation in Hajj services. The local government now starts optimizing automated e-gates and AI-based translator devices to speed up the departure process for pilgrims. Using this tech aims to boost service efficiency, smooth out immigration checks, and cut down on queues.
Spokesperson for Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Passports, Major Nasser Al Otaibi, said automated e-gates enable faster checks without compromising security. Plus, the AI translator gadgets support up to 138 languages to help officers communicate with pilgrims from various countries. Mobile counters are also provided to make things easier for the elderly and people with disabilities.
Indonesia has rolled out a similar digital system too. The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections introduced the Immigration Seamless Process Corridor Gate at Soekarno-Hatta and Juanda airports. This tech allows quick checks via iris scanner without needing to pull out your passport.
These innovations based on AI, biometric sensors, and automation systems show a huge shift in managing modern Hajj travel for quicker, safer, and more comfortable services for millions of pilgrims.
