Priority Hajj Inclusive Service: Landis Teams Ready to Assist Elderly and Disabled Pilgrims
This year's Hajj pilgrimage organization prioritizes an inclusive approach by emphasizing friendly services for elderly pilgrims, people with disabilities, and women. This commitment is realized through the presence of Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH) who are part of the elderly and disability (Landis) teams in every service sector.
One Landis officer from Sector 3 Madinah, Hamam Asy'ari, emphasized that their main focus is on pilgrims' health conditions. "Our task is to monitor data on elderly pilgrims, their physical condition, and confirm health data to the health team," he said on Sunday (3/5). Monitoring is done through direct visits, especially for pilgrims with unstable health conditions.
This Hajj program that caters to vulnerable groups is a priority policy for the government this year. The assistance includes monitoring, visits, and providing solutions for pilgrims' complaints. "We serve with the principle of treating them like caring for our own parents," Hamam added. The Landis teams also assist mobility for pilgrims using wheelchairs to ensure the pilgrimage proceeds safely and comfortably.
