Our Deen on Social Media
Assalamu alaikum, I don't want to come across as overly strict, but I think many of us are worried about what's happening on social media these days. I'm not even talking about the inappropriate content some people share, but even the smaller things that chip away at the respect our beautiful religion deserves. For example, I recently came across someone trying to figure out how many rak'ahs of Taraweeh certain cartoon characters would pray based on their personalities. Listen, I'm all for having a good time, but when our deen gets turned into entertainment like this, it just feels wrong. It's like people have forgotten the true spirit of Islam and are leaving behind something hollow, and honestly, that doesn't reflect well on any of us.
