NU's Muktamar in Tambakberas Becomes a Magnet, Hotel Occupancy Immediately Full
Picking Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas, Jombang, as the host for the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama Muktamar had an instant impact on the hotel scene. Less than 24 hours after the official announcement, a bunch of hotels in Jombang were already fully booked.
Azana Hotel Jombang, a four-star hotel about 4 km from the venue, said all 62 rooms they set aside for the muktamar period were snapped up in just hours. Bookings started pouring in on the night of the announcement at 9 p.m. WIB, and by the next morning, the hotel was already turning away a lot of would-be guests.
According to Sales Marketing Manager Adi Hermawan, every room is taken for the period of 26–31 August 2026, with most guests coming from Jakarta. Room rates have gone up 20–25 percent to an average of Rp750,000 a night, while extra beds jumped from Rp250,000 to Rp350,000. The hotel feels their current staff is plenty to handle the guests.
The 35th NU Muktamar is set for 27–31 August 2026 and is expected to draw around 6,000 official participants, observers, and invited guests from all over the country and abroad. The flood of thousands of participants is projected to give Jombang's economy a boost, especially for the hotel, food, transportation, and micro business sectors.
