NU Congress Prep in Jombang Ramping Up, Unwaha Rooms Now Have AC Installed
Preparations for the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress in Jombang keep showing significant progress, with overall progress already passing 50 percent. PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) said that KH Wahab Chasbullah University (Unwaha) is now way more ready, including AC installation in 250 rooms and mattresses available for attendees.
Unwaha will be the accommodation site and support the sessions and commissions discussing recommendations. According to Gus Ipul, the infrastructure is adequate, but they still need to add partitions for attendees' comfort. The committee is targeting 90 percent progress by August 20, 2026.
Gus Ipul appreciated the local committee's work, especially Local Committee Chair KH Abdurrozaq Sholeh (Gus Rozaq) and the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School team. Even though prep time was short-the location was decided only 50 days before the event-good coordination made Jombang seem ready to host. The congress is scheduled for August 27–31, 2026, with the opening planned to be attended by the President of Indonesia.
