My Sincere Advice for Muslim Families
Assalamu Alaikum everyone. A word of advice, especially for parents with young children: please be mindful of the content your kids watch. When I was young, I started watching Islamic debates by scholars like Zakir Naik and Ahmed Deedat, but then online suggestions began showing me opposing viewpoints and material that promotes disbelief. I kept viewing them out of curiosity, and gradually, it led me away from Islam. Now, Alhamdulillah, I'm trying to find my way back and have even started praying again, but my faith isn't as strong as it once was. When I was firmly grounded in Islam, I had tranquility, a clear purpose, and true self-worth. My life wasn't perfect, but it was better in many ways. Those videos really altered my perspective on Allah, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and everything I believed in. The Quran reminds us not to sit with those who mock our deen, as it can influence us. I'm sharing my story to help others avoid the same struggle. Even with noble intentions, consuming content that attacks Islam isn't wise-our hearts can be swayed more easily than we realize. Alhamdulillah, it's better to focus on beneficial content, like stories of the prophets, rather than diving deep into confrontational debates. Jazakallah Khair for reading, and please keep me in your duas, that Allah may forgive me and grant me steadfastness. I hold onto the hope in Allah's mercy and keep affirming La ilaha illa Allah, as we know He forgives all sins except shirk.
