Jusuf Kalla's Complainant from GAMKI Turns Out to be a PSI Cadre, Linked to Kaesang Pangarep
The Chairman of the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI), Sahat Martin Philip Sinurat, who reported Jusuf Kalla (JK) to the Metro Jaya Regional Police, is known to be a cadre of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). Sahat is reported to hold the position of Chairman of the Ideology Department at the PSI Central Executive Board for the 2025–2030 term. Many refer to him as a "subordinate" of PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep, though there's been no official confirmation from PSI.
The report against JK was filed by the GAMKI Central Executive Board along with other Christian organizations on April 12, 2026, concerning JK's statement in a lecture at the UGM Mosque where he used the term "martyrdom" in the context of the Poso and Ambon conflicts in the 2000s. The complainants considered the statement to have caused unrest in society. The report was registered under case number LP/B/2547/IV/2026/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya.
JK's spokesperson, Husain Abdullah, responded that the complainants should examine the full context of the lecture, whose core message was aimed at reconciling conflicting parties. JK is said to be open to dialogue. The revelation of Sahat's background as a PSI cadre has become a public spotlight on social media, with many netizens questioning the motives behind the report. To date, PSI and Kaesang have not issued any official comment.
