Humain and AirTrunk to Invest $3bn in AI-Ready Data Center Campus in Saudi Arabia - Alhamdulillah
RIYADH - Alhamdulillah, Humain has signed an agreement with AirTrunk for a $3 billion investment to build a data center campus in Saudi Arabia. The deal pairs Humain, backed by the Public Investment Fund, with AirTrunk, which has support from major global investors.
Under the agreement, Humain will lead efforts in the Kingdom to develop large-scale AI-ready infrastructure, while AirTrunk and its partners will contribute international experience, operational know-how and financing capacity. This fits with Humain’s goal to help position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for artificial intelligence and to expand high-quality digital and AI infrastructure.
Tareq Amin, CEO of Humain, said the partnership strengthens the tech backbone of the Kingdom’s digital economy. He noted it’s an important step toward creating scalable, secure and sustainable data center capacity to meet the fast growth of AI and cloud services in Saudi Arabia.
The collaboration covers data center design, construction and operations, financing through equity and debt, and joint efforts to attract major cloud providers and enterprise customers. There’s also a focus on growing local talent and skills to support Saudi Arabia’s aim of a competitive and sustainable digital ecosystem.
Robin Khuda, founder and CEO of AirTrunk, said the move will help Saudi Arabia realize its vision of a data- and AI-driven economy. Leaders from the investor community highlighted their commitment to bringing expertise and scale to the region’s digital infrastructure.
